Boxer - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog - Sydney- Urgent
Description
Age: 3 1/2 years old Weight: Medical: Up to date on shots, spayed, and heartworm negative Hi there everybody!!!! My name used to be Izzy but now it's Sydney cuz my foster mom likes that name better and that's just fine with me :) I'm a chunky girl who loves her groceries but that means there's just more of me to love. I was left at a really bad place two and a half years ago by my owner because he said it took too much of his time to take care of me. He just left me there, shaking and afraid, and walked away -- I was so sad and depressed. I was such a nice girl at the shelter so the employees let me live there for 6 months (nobody gets to live there anywhere near that long) but then one day they were so full with other dogs that they were going to take me down the hallway to a room and send me to the Rainbow Bridge and I sure didn't want to go there. A nice lady (my guardian angel) showed up on my last day and took me away from there; she has let me stay at her house ever since but I would give just anything at all to have my own family. Every Saturday for the last 2.5 years, my foster mom gathers me up and takes me in my crate to something called Adoption Days at a local pet store but nobody ever says they want to adopt me and it hurts my feelings, so I don't want to have to do that anymore. It makes me anxious and sad to have to sit in my crate so long every Saturday while people just pass me by time and time again. I cry but "mom" says I have to keep trying to find my forever family. I've waited so very long and I think all the time about what it might be like to have blankets, and sweaters, and toys. I'm housetrained, crate-trained, I like to play with other dogs that are not mean to me. "Mom" says the only negative things she can tell about me are that, in a new home, I need a couple of days separation from other dogs and I need to be introduced slowly. I'm not a mean girl at all but, because new things are sometimes a little scary, I need to be introduced to the other dogs gradually so I won't be snappy if I think the other dogs might hurt me or be mean to me. But, by day three, I'm my normal happy, playful self!!!! I live at a foster home and am inside 80% of the time with usually 15-20 other foster dogs there playing with me and we're all good friends! Oh, and just one more small thing -- I'm good on a leash but I'm a stocky girl and I'm very strong so I like to be walked with a harness and that makes the walk much easier for me and whoever is walking me :) Please help me find a family that will cherish me and never throw me away!!!!! Adoption donation: $250 If you have any questions please email this dog's adoption coordinator: kesalerno@gmail.com If you are interested in adopting or would like more information about PAWS NE, please check our website: http://www.pawsnewengland.com/ The adoption donation covers all pre-adoption vet costs (vaccinations, spaying/neutering, deworming, etc.) and includes their transportation up to New England. PAWS New England is not shelter but a rescue and thus is not funded by any city or state organization - we rely solely on the donations of our adopters to help defray the costs associated with saving these precious lives. Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs are located in Tennessee at our vet clinic's boarding facility or in foster care. If a dog is "local", that means he or she is at one of our foster homes in New England. Want to help a friend in need? Donations can be made by clicking the button below. Please remember these are rescued dogs, not dogs coming from a breeder or behavior academy. They may have issues that can be worked with - we do our best to determine these ahead of time. Please do not expect them to be perfect. They are not, neither are we - that's why we love them so much!!!
