This is our short-legged little beagle boy who looks older than he is per the vets!! I hate when that happens to me and he feels the same way!!! Cyprus is a great dog who is fostering locally - he is with another dog that he gets along great with and he's very playful.His foster parents are teaching him some manners on and off leash and say he is coming along great. He's housetrained and ahs no issues in that department!!! No cats for this beagle boy - he doesn't like them and they do not like him back. This would be a great family dog! I'm about 5-6 years old the vet thinks and I weigh about 30 pounds now (I was really thin when my foster mom took me out of that awful, wet, stinky shelter on April 6). I'm so ready to get to come up to New England where it's not so hot in the summer time. I'll even learn to love the snow I know -- I'll let you put coats and sweaters on me I promise!!! My favorite thing in the world to do is sleep on the couch and zoom around the yard sometimes with all the other dogs here at my foster home. I'm afraid that, since I'm not a young dog, nobody will give me a chance and it looks like that's how it goes -- my very best friend Annie (also a middle-aged Beagle) got to go to her new forever home last week, which made me very sad because I miss her so much. I wish someone would adopt me, too, so I can get to sleep in the bed and have new friends and laps to snuggle on. I would love to have children to play with, other dogs to run and romp with, water to splash around in, and toys to play with -- that would be my dream come true! Can you please help get me there? I would be forever grateful to you :) Notes from Cypress' Foster Mom: This boy is a totally "inside dog" and he absolutely adores other dogs of all sizes and breeds! Loves to sleep on the doggy bed and is extremely good in the house; knows what "potty" means and runs to the door when you say the word. An older one with health issues can easily cost $500-1500 in veterinary expenses, and it may require months of foster care for rehabilitation; yet we can only ask a minimal adoption fee, and it may be a long time until anyone comes forward to adopt it. Fees from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others. Most of our dogs have a sad story to tell, and some have suffered through years of neglect or abuse.
